September 28th at 12pm EDT: Understand the severity of your food allergy with Dr. Philippe Bégin
Hear from Dr. Philippe Bégin on what makes your food allergy severe. Register now.
With OIT becoming increasingly available, more is understood about the severity of allergic reactions. Insights have been gained through OIT, as it involves giving small amounts of an allergen in increasing doses until a person is able to eat a certain amount without triggering a reaction, so long as they are on this treatment.
Dr. Bégin is both a researcher and clinician, and he’s recognized as a leader in multi-allergen OIT. Dr. Bégin’s academic and clinical background makes him an expert on this topic.
In this session, learn about the concept of thresholds (the lowest amount of a food allergen that can trigger a reaction), how co-factors and other mechanisms/therapies can lower the threshold at which one reacts, and an exploration on how they all relate to understanding the potential severity of food allergy. Discover why allergic reactions for some are only mildly uncomfortable, while with others they can be life-threatening.
Don’t miss out on this informative session with our expert guest speaker, Dr. Bégin!
